Coach Celebrates 85th Anniversary at NYFW SS27

Coach's Milestone Celebration

Creative Director Stuart Vevers presented a collection for Coach that served as a love letter to worn elegance and cherished memories. Designer Jasmin Larian Hekmat drew inspiration from her reflection on grief and resilience following her grandmother's passing. The line explores the concept of beauty emerging from hardship. The show's narrative saw a color shift from charcoal tones into sky blue and blooming pinks. The collection blended architectural basketweaves and metallic constructions with soft, hand-painted organza petals. It was styled with sculptural wooden accessories, undone hairstyles, and sun-drenched makeup.

PIPENCO's Folklore Inspiration

Designer Lauren Pipenco tapped into her Romanian heritage for her SS27 collection. She drew from Romanian folklore, specifically the guardian spirit known as Muma Pădurii, or Mother of the Forest. The source notes the designer explored the contradiction of this spirit, who is both a protector and a fearsome creature. The resulting collection was described as wild, sculptural, and imaginative, blending soft and hard elements. During the show, Pipenco also debuted an upcoming collaboration with footwear brand UGG.
