Ib Kamara Departs Off-White
Creative director Ib Kamara has left Off-White in a mutual decision with owner Bluestar Alliance. His tenure included the brand's first New York show and the launch of the L/AB c/o Off-White line.

Creative director Ib Kamara and Off-White have parted ways. The mutual decision, confirmed by the brand's owner Bluestar Alliance from Milan, ends Kamara's formal leadership of the house founded by the late Virgil Abloh. For the latest on major brand developments, see our stats page.
Bluestar Alliance, which took control of Off-White in September 2024, issued a statement. Joey Gabbay, the group's chief executive officer, thanked Kamara for his impact. "We are deeply grateful for Ib's vision, creativity, and the remarkable energy he brought to Off-White throughout his tenure," Gabbay said via WWD. He credited Kamara with shaping the brand's evolution.
A Tenure Rooted in Collaboration
Kamara's connection to the brand predated his official title. He was a close collaborator of founder Virgil Abloh before being formalized into the creative director role in the Spring of 2022. This foundational relationship deeply informed his work at the helm.
His time leading the label was marked by significant public moments. A major highlight was staging Off-White's first-ever New York fashion show in September 2024, a key event you can track in our fixtures.
Signature Moments and New Lines
The show was held on the community basketball courts of Brooklyn Bridge Park. It drew a notable audience. Attendees included Flavor Flav, Camila Cabello, Leon Bridges, Suni Lee, Lena Waithe, Issa Rae, Paris Jackson, Zayn Malik, Victoria Monét, and Mary J. Blige.
More recently, Kamara oversaw the launch of L/AB c/o Off-White. This initiative presented a younger and more affordable line. It revisited Abloh's original Off-White For All concept, featuring a cast of musicians, models, and creators.
Looking Beyond the Brand
Parallel to his work at Off-White, Kamara has been expanding his own creative ventures. In June 2025, he launched Raw Materials by Ib Kamara. This is a 360 creative agency, signaling his work extending beyond the fashion house.
The brand has not yet announced a successor to Kamara. Neither Off-White nor Kamara has provided details on how his departure will affect upcoming collections. The future direction of the label remains unclear, a situation reflected in our current standings.
