Milan Fashion Week SS27 spotlighted the skirt as a key piece, viral collaborations, and bold performances. Prada’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection centered the skirt, reimagined with crystal embroideries, decorative crinoline layers, and organza outer shells. Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons showed the humble skirt worn with thick sweaters, structured shirts, and bra tops.

MM6 Maison Margiela delivers a deconstructive masterclass

MM6 Maison Margiela’s SS27 shows was a masterclass in opposite day. The brand debuted a probably-now-viral Havaianas collaboration. Models wore jackets as skirts and buttoned-up shirts as dresses. Jumpers were styled however the brand wanted them.

MM6 fused classic striped tops with asymmetric silhouettes. It combined cozy knitwear with elements of deconstruction. The collection paired short trench coats with toe-shaped flip-flops, challenging norms by reworking everyday garments into avant-garde forms.

Diesel’s final show under Glenn Martens features provocative performance

Glenn Martens presented his final collection for Diesel at Milan Fashion Week SS27, following his recent departure announcement. The show featured an unexpected performance before the finale by the Marseille-based artist collective (LA)HORDE.

Two hundred performers sat subtly in the audience before breaking out into sensual actions. They touched themselves and each other. The act closed with serious head-banging. Martens described the collection as "an ode to pleasure in the most exaggerated of ways."

Vogue World 2026 brings celebrity style to Milan

Vogue World 2026 took place during the week, drawing celebrity attendees to the shows. Pamela Anderson wore a gold drop-waist dress with retro-inspired accessories. At Max Mara, Leighton Meester wore a cracking skirt and white shirt combo.

Kelly Rutherford attended in a fantastic double-breasted black coat. Kate Mara chose a checked co-ord for the Max Mara presentation.

Global designers explore presence and heritage

Dhruv Kapoor presented its SS27 collection titled 'PRESENCE', exploring the concept of being present and aware. It evolved the brand’s prior 'transit' theme, switching between states and merging floating silhouettes with fitted ones. The collection used sun-faded colors with brightly saturated hues.

It combined structured tailoring with delicate draping. Inspiration came from the ease of Indian dressing. Kapoor reimagined traditional Indian lungi, vests, and sari silhouettes. The show also debuted a new collaboration with PUMA, resulting in the PUMA X RCB capsule.

FENDI’s SS27 collection explored a relationship beginning with undergarments in delicate lace, embroidery, and pastel tones. It evolved into costume-style looks inspired by Raffaella Carrà. The show set design drew from the artwork 'Cubo di specchi ' by Italian sculptor Luciano Fabro. Forcing spectators into confrontation, the result saw the audience facing a mirrored box in which the models walked.

The week's schedule saw Jil Sander, Fendi, and MM6 Maison Margiela highlight day two. Killer footwear was spotted at Onitsuka Tiger. MaxMara and Marni presented on day three. Gucci, Moschino, and Bottega Veneta are still to present their shows after day three.
