Uniqlo opened its 25th UK store in Cambridge on 24 September 2025. The flagship is located at Grande Arcade on St Andrews Street, spanning approximately 880 square metres across two floors.

The store stocks the full Lifewear range for women and men, including designer collaborations and the AW26 collection. This collection features a spectrum of colour palettes, contemporary silhouettes, and seasonal fabric innovations. The opening marks a key milestone in the brand's regional growth strategy.

Alessandro Dudech, Uniqlo's UK chief operating officer, emphasized the brand's community focus. "Our stores are about much more than retail space. They are places where we can connect directly with customers and contribute positively to local communities," he said. The company views the UK as a very important market with significant growth opportunities. Reaching 25 stores is an important milestone but not a final destination.

Local collaborations and community focus

The Cambridge store exemplifies Uniqlo's approach to local relevance. It features exclusive partnerships with the University of Cambridge and local illustrator Lele Saa.

A large-scale mural by Lele Saa adorns the store's staircase. It depicts historic Cambridge landmarks, riverside scenery, and everyday moments. The collaboration with the university celebrates the city's spirit of curiosity and discovery. It has yielded exclusive UTme! T-shirts featuring campus-inspired designs and specially created embroidered items.

Uniqlo collaborates with local artists and organisations to reflect local culture and character in its stores. Each location is intended to be more than just a retail space, aiming to build meaningful community connections.

Strategic growth beyond Cambridge

Uniqlo plans to make Lifewear more accessible across the UK by investing in major cities and regional locations. The brand has a clear expansion strategy for the coming years.

The strategy focuses on long-term expansion and building meaningful community connections across the country. Uniqlo's next opening is a second Manchester location at the Trafford Centre.
