Louis Vuitton Expands Permanent Tambour Spin Time Watch

Louis Vuitton has introduced five new Tambour Spin Time watches to its permanent collection. The luxury house unveiled the models, which range from 39.5mm to 42.5mm cases in white gold, rose gold, and platinum.

This move follows limited-edition releases from 2025's LVMH Watch Week. The Spin Time complication, first created in 2007, is Louis Vuitton's mechanical interpretation of the "Art of Travel." Its designers, Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini of La Fabrique du Temps, drew inspiration from departure boards in airports and train stations. Every component of the new watches is developed and produced in-house at the La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton workshop in Geneva.

The 39.5mm Models

The permanent collection launches with two 39.5mm watches, both offering 100 meters of water resistance. The Tambour Spin Time Green features a white gold case and a dial finished in a deep, earthy green sunray and sandblasted texture. It comes on a matching green rubber strap quilted with the brand's signature V motif.

A first for the Tambour line, the Tambour Spin Time Australia's Opal uses an 18-carat rose gold case set with 68 baguette-cut blue sapphires on the bezel and lugs. Its dial center is made from fiery blue Australian opal, framed by 12 baguette-cut diamond indexes. Opal inserts are also placed between each of the watch's signature Spin Time cubes. Both of these models are powered by the self-winding calibre LFT ST13.01, visible through a sapphire caseback-a new feature for the 39.5mm size.

Larger Travel Complications

Two larger references in the Spin Time Air series offer advanced travel functions. Housed in 42.5mm white gold cases, they feature suspended displays. The Tambour Spin Time Air Blue has a sandblasted blue dial where 12 floating cubes spell out "Louis Vuitton." These cubes have polished studs designed to resemble vintage trunk rivets.

The Tambour Spin Time Air Antipode Blue integrates a 24-time-zone worldtime complication. It uses the in-house calibre LFT ST12.01. The watch displays antipodal cities-locations exactly 12 hours apart, like Los Angeles and Dubai-on opposite sides of the same cube. This design allows the rotating cubes to show a.m. And p.m. Day-night indications. Local time is indicated by a miniature yellow pointer, a nod to the stitching on Louis Vuitton leather goods.

The High-Horology Centerpiece

The pinnacle of the new permanent range is the Tambour Spin Time Air Flying Tourbillon Salmon. It comes in a 42.5mm case made from 950 platinum. Developed with La Fabrique des Cadrans, the watch features a soft salmon dial and a taupe calfskin strap for a classic look.

At its heart is the in-house calibre LFT ST05.01. This movement contains 283 components and requires 50 hours of hand assembly. It combines the floating cube hour display with a central flying tourbillon crafted in the shape of a Monogram flower. All five new references feature openwork casebacks and finely crafted details.
